professionally administered, scheduled, competent and committed hoof care program. We believe that each horse, regardless of age, use or price, has an inherent dignity and is worthy of the very best care.

Today, everyone’s time is precious. Coast Farrier Service helps take the effort out of horse ownership by offering scheduled, on time and dependable horseshoeing service. Coast Farrier Service serves the beautiful communities of Agoura Hills, Malibu, Westlake Village, Topanga Canyon, Calabasas, Hidden Hills, Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Camarillo, Moorpark, Simi Valley and the surrounding areas located in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. We’re local and we’ll be there for you when you need us.

Coast Farrier Service is completely prepared to meet your horse’s every hoof care need. In our one-of-a-kind, custom-built, mobile horseshoeing shop, we carry an exceptionally large inventory of over 100 sizes and styles of both steel and aluminum shoes as well as a complete assortment of bar-shoes and pads. And for the horse with a truly special need, Coast Farrier Service has the ability to hand forge corrective or therapeutic shoes as well as fabricate any other type of shoe or traction device, via our forge or our MIG or oxy/acetylene welders. We also stock a wide array of Vettec, Keratex, Grand Circuit, Mustad and many other hoof care products for the creation of foal extensions, gluing on shoes, repairing hoof walls, providing support to the sensitive structures of the horse’s foot and for general hoof health. We have the capability to instantly and accurately measure the variations in surface temperature of your horse’s hoofs with our non-contact infrared laser thermometer. Additionally, from our onboard computer and through the use of downloaded digital photographs (shot on site by Coast Farrier Service), Coast Farrier Service can utilize EponaTech, Metron PX hoof mapping software which allows us to measure, track changes, compare and archive up to 70 calculated parameters of your horse’s hoof. These unbiased, full color images and parameters can be compared to your own horse’s historical database or to a built in database. Reports can be emailed to you, your veterinarian or anyone you choose. Coast Farrier Service has all the tools and materials necessary to get the job done, correctly and efficiently, the first time.

Even with all of the high tech equipment and machinery we have at our disposal, Coast Farrier Service remains committed to the basics – hoof balance and hot shoeing. Every horse is meticulously balanced for optimum stance, gate and ultimately, comfort, performance and soundness. At Coast Farrier Service, every horse is shod hot, if possible– and while it does take longer, we understand and believe in the benefits of both superior shoe fit and increased hoof health gained by hot fitting and hot seating your horse’s shoes.

Unfortunately, there may come a time when your horse will be in need. Whether it is a simple lost shoe on the morning of a big show or an acute or chronic lameness, we will be there for your horse and you - day or night, weekend or not. For serious cases, Coast Farrier Service believes there is a need for, and that optimum results will only be achieved, when the horse’s owner, veterinarian and farrier work as a team. We stand ready to work closely with you and your veterinarian. Coast Farrier Service will be there for your horse and you, and continue to liaison with your veterinarian until your horse’s recovery.

Though the basic horseshoeing principals are well established and proven, Coast Farrier Service also understands that, like most sciences, new advances in horseshoeing and hoof care are being introduced almost daily. That is why we have invested thousands of dollars in continuing education. Coast Farrier Service remains committed to keeping an open mind toward implementing new advances in equine hoof care. However, ethics dictate that we will only employ new procedures, products or techniques after they have been closely examined and they have held up consistently over time and under close, unbiased scrutiny. Throughout the year, members of Coast Farrier Service will regularly attend clinics and conferences, taught by some of the world’s best farriers, at locations throughout the United States.

As dedicated members of our community and the inherent good horses bring to society, Coast farrier Service offers free seminars on various hoof care topics to horse organizations, schools and other interested parties. These professional presentations can be tailored to meet the specific needs of your organization and age group.

Coast Farrier Service will be there for you to provide caring, ethical and unmatched horseshoeing service. We look forward to establishing a dedicated and enjoyable long term hoof care program with you. Contact us today for a complimentary visit to discuss your individual needs as well as a complete explanation of all of our services. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
